Between the Orhy peak and the Iraty massif, the Etchemaite hotel in Larrau offers the authenticity and friendliness of a privileged address in a genuine high mountain village in the heart of the Pays Basque. The story of this family home began in the early 1920s when the Etchemaite family's grandfather moved into the farmhouse, where he set up a grocery shop, a bar and a taxi service while continuing his farming activities.
The hotel was later created by Pierre Etchemaite and his wife Cathy. Today, the 4th generation keeps on writing the pages of the family history. The hotel has grown and modernised over the years to offer you a warm and comfortable place to stay, in keeping with what their elders had imagined. The pretty building with its typically Basque charm offers the comfort of 17 elegant rooms and the tasty regional cuisine of a panoramic restaurant. 

Halfway between the prestigious Holzarte canyon and the famous Iraty forest, lovers of beautiful walks will appreciate the exceptional natural environment of the Logis Hotel Etchemaite, from which they can set off on the trails.

We welcome you to one of our 17 carefully decorated rooms, one of which is suitable for people with reduced mobility (PRM). All face the village and the surrounding mountains. Some have a balcony.
